Deleting a Discovery search target
If you are no longer using a specific Discovery search target or need to remove it from the system, you can delete it. Deleting a Discovery search target removes the search target from any profiles that the search target is assigned to. That means that patrons can no longer search against the Discovery search target from a specific search profile.

If you try to delete a Discovery target, federated target, or search limit that is in use in at least one room, the software displays an error message indicating that it will not delete the target or limit until it is no longer associated with any room in any profile. (To remove the target from all profiles, see Fields: Assign Target to Profiles.) |

If you delete a search target that has a search result display associated with it, Portfolio deletes all the settings associated with the search target, including all search result displays. |
To delete a Discovery search target
- Log in to the Admin console.
- Choose Search Configuration from the navigation pane.
- Choose Discovery Search Targets.
- Choose the Delete option next to the Discovery search target that you want to delete.
- When prompted, choose OK to delete the Discovery search target. If you do not want to delete the search target, choose Cancel.
